Summary

Spencer Summons has extensive experience leading teams through challenges and transformation across a variety of public and private sector organisations having served as a Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) Security Advisor, CISO and CIO. Highlights include, supporting development of the National Risk Assessment, influencing policy change within the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure, advising the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic Games and providing security policy advice to the `UK’s Department of Transport. In the private sector, Spencer has led GDPR readiness, developed greenfield cyber security capability and driven Joint Venture (JV) partner approaches to secure ‘Offshore’ and ‘Onshore’ Operational Technology (OT) assets. His innovative approach to developing cyber security has led to industry recognition in security awareness and as a CISO Supremo, Manufacturing. Spencer has also led global IT transformation and operating model transformation via changes in the approach to digital enablement, leading to an internal CEO award. Spencer is an MBA, holds the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) accredited Certified Cyber Professional (CCP) and Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP), in addition to other recognised certifications.
