Menopause is a fact of female life. All women will have one, yet most of us (women and men) are unaware and unprepared for how it might impact us and those around us. Much of this is due to the historical bias and myth that surrounds this phase in women’s lives. Contrary to popular opinion Menopause is not just a ‘woman’s issue’ but an everyone issue, after all we all know a woman in some capacity whether that be as a partner, family member, friend or colleague.
With more women than ever in the workplace, Menopause is fast becoming the issue that organisations are yet to fully recognise. Now is the time to raise our awareness of this inevitable life event.
Kate Usher is an experienced coach and change strategist, and author with a specialism in Menopause and gender equality will share the importance and benefits of having an open dialogue in the workplace, how to approach the conversation and the support that should be in place.
By the end of this session you will understand:
1. All you need to know about what the Menopause is and its potential impact on women in the workplace
2. Why having a conversation about your Menopause at work is important, and what support is available
3. When to have a Menopause conversation at work, and how to offer support as an ally.
