The ‘Women in Business’ is an opportunity for all genders to better understand women in business, and how their roles influence business agility and growth.  The ultimate goal is for businesses to better understand, and foster a deeper empathy for female leaders.

We intend to shed light on this topic by spotlighting female leaders' unique perspectives and strengths at through 8 interactive sessions.  We hope that participants will gain a refreshed strategic thinking that will energise their tactics and leadership styles. 

Our Guest Speaker Rose Sandy, Founder of HarperCollins Author Academy shares her experiences and the importance of creating an environment which encourages innovation and growth. Rose shares her journey on launching a brand-new initiative offering free training to support writers from underrepresented minority ethnic backgrounds in publishing. Rose shares the importance of using influence to create opportunities for change.

Justification for attending this session:
By the end of this session you will gain a deeper understanding of the art of communicating to influence more effectively, and the importance and strength of diversity and authentic leadership.

Rose Sandy

Publishing Director


Rose is Publishing Director, HQ Non-Fiction at HarperCollins Publishers UK, the second largest commercial book publisher in the world. Prior to joining HarperCollins, she worked several years in multinational corporations. She has worked internationally in global corporations, her journey taking her across various industries: consumer electronics and entertainment (Sony Corporation), FMCG (The Coca-Cola Company) and technology (Cisco Systems). Rose has been at HarperCollins for over eight years in publishing roles, and currently manages the HQ Non-Fiction list looking after author brands, developing and nurturing new talent. Rose is also the founder and leader of the HarperCollins Author Academy. The Academy trains and supports writers from underrepresented ethnic backgrounds, to help them become commercially successful in the publishing environment.
