2020 was a year unlike any other, and the entire working world became accustom to a different way of working where constant changes became part of the norm. Did your company and team values change to reflect this? And are these values still fit for purpose?

Company values form company culture, help to attract talent within the market, and feed into staff retention and help with ensure you have a satisfied workforce. Taking these values from uniformed statements and living by these values within your day to day working lives is easier said than done. As a leader, within any role, you have a responsibility to lead by example and embed these values within your team.

Gerry Mulvihill, Head of Programme Management Group at SSE plc, will be sharing his experience and insights on company values and how, as a leader, you can drive these behaviors within your team.

Summary

Gerry is passionate about leading and developing people to enable transformational change. He currently oversees delivery of SSE’s IT change agenda. With experience across multiple industries (Banking, Telecoms, Regulation and Energy) he has built and led successful teams delivering major programmes working across complex environments. Within SSE Gerry leads IT’s Inclusion and Diversity agenda and outside of SSE is an active member of CITF (Collaboration, Innovation and Technology Forum) and the Everywomen in Technology Forum. Gerry supports individuals achieve their own personal and professional goals by mentoring and coaching both internally and externally.Outside of work Gerry has a passion for sport and travel (which obviously has been paused for a bit), as he has a curiosity to experience different cultures, learn new things and seek adventure.
